"It is an honor to serve the people of District 16 as your representative. I do my best to represent our district. Although we may not agree 100% of the time, we probably agree most of the time. I work hard to make informed decisions on legislation by listening to constituents and understanding the social and economic impacts to citizens in our district and our state."

Elimination Of Sales Tax On Food, HB 588
Voted for HB 588 increasing the grocery tax credit. This bill was signed into law. I will continue to work for the elimination of sales tax on food because I believe that it is wrong to tax the necessities of life.

Making Dog Fighting A Felony, SB 1260
Voted for HB 1260 making dog-fighting a felony. This bill was signed into law.

Child Care Licensing, SB 1376
Co-sponsored SB 1376, which would have created statewide child care licensing standards.

Restrictions On Number of Sexual Offenders In Group Homes, HB 417
Voted for HB 417 limiting the number of sex offenders who can live in a group home. This bill was signed into law.

Retired State Employees Health Insurance Benefits, HB 1447

Worked to defeat SB 1447, which would have taken away health insurance benefits from retired state employees. This bill was killed in committee.

Local Option Tax Authority

Supported granting local option tax authority to fund public transit.

Junk Food In School Vending Machines, HCR 55
Voted for HCR 55 recommending to the Dept. of Education that it place restrictions on the sale of junk food in vending machines in public schools. This resolution passed the House 49-20.

Pre-K Education, SB 1406
Supported SB 1406, which would have allow Idaho school districts to create pre-K school programs.

Treasure Valley Air Quality, HB 586
Voted for HB 586 authorizing the Dept. of Environment Quality to develop rules for testing auto emissions in the Treasure Valley. This bill was signed into law.

Community Infrastructure Development, HB 680

Voted for HB 680 granting authority for the issuance of community infrastructure development bonds. The ability to issue such bonds will provide a much-needed tool to make growth pay for itself. This bill was signed into law.

Energy Efficient Buildings, HB 422

Voted for HB 422 requiring all state major construction and renovations to be constructed according to standards that are 30% more efficient than previous construction standards. This bill was signed into law.

Invasive Species Act, HB 643

Voted for HB 643 creating a framework for addressing the increasing threat of invasive species in Idaho=s waterways. This bill was signed into law.

Field Burning, HB 557
Voted in favor of HB 557 approving an agreement between public health advocates and agricultural interests to establish transparent field burning processes. This bill was signed into law.

Urban Renewal Districts, HB 616
Voted against HB 616, which would have placed unreasonable restrictions on the creation of urban renewal districts. Boise's urban renewal district has been the key to the redevelopment of downtown Boise making it a vibrant part of our community. This bill was defeated in the House by a vote of 33-37.

Workers Compensation Coverage For Volunteer Fire Fighters And Emergency Responders,
SB 1444

Co-sponsored of SB 1444 extending workers compensation coverage to volunteer fire fighters and emergency responders. This bill was signed into law.
